In order to work together on environmental sustainability and enhance quantifiable performance throughout the industry, the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) has formed a new partnership.
According to a release from EEG, the Emirates Hospitality Sustainability Alliance (EHSA) was established on August 31 at Coral Beach Resort Sharjah, bringing together leaders in the hospitality industry, sustainability experts, industry stakeholders, and partners. The alliance will give participating organizations a forum to share best practices and information, investigate solutions, and collaborate on shared environmental concerns.
The project coincides with the hospitality industry’s efforts to tackle environmental issues like as trash, food waste, energy and water usage, procurement, supply chains, and resource efficiency. The collaboration, according to Dr. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, co-founder and head of EEG, would assist link sustainability initiatives already being carried out by businesses in the industry.
The establishment of a new Alliance is just one aspect of today’s significance. It’s the start of a journey together for the hospitality industry in the United Arab Emirates,” she stated. Al Mar’ashi continued, “Sustainability cannot remain an aspiration or a collection of isolated initiatives.” “We must be able to recognize where we are, pinpoint areas that need improvement, and track our progress if we hope to bring about significant change.”
According to EEG, EHSA will provide a pipeline of initiatives to help hospitality organizations enhance their sustainable performance. A specific sustainability guideline for the hospitality industry is one of the proposed efforts that will be implemented later.
Additionally, the alliance would prioritize knowledge sharing, capacity building, and cooperation among organizations dealing with similar environmental issues.
