In honor of Emirati Women’s Day, the National Archives and Library will host a month-long event showcasing the accomplishments and contributions of women throughout the history of the United Arab Emirates.
The program, which has as its subject “Together, We Emerge Stronger and Better,” will include seminars, workshops, historical exhibits, and cultural and community events.
Sheika Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, has directed the initiative.
The National Archives and Library will host a historical photography exhibition called “Emirati Women in the National Memory” as part of the event.
Selected images from its collections that highlight the lives, roles, and contributions of Emirati women throughout the nation’s history will be on display.
The Arabian Gulf Digital Archive (AGDA), which offers access to historical documents pertaining to the United Arab Emirates and the surrounding area, will also be highlighted by the National Archives and library.
Zayed and Women, Thus Spoke Fatima bint Mubarak, and The Diaries of Sheika Fatima bint Mubarak are just a few of the works that highlight Emirati women.
